Hannans Acquires 80% of Forrestania Project
Hannans Reward (ASX:HNR) has increased its
interest in the strategically important Forrestania Joint Venture to
80%, following the acquisition of an additional 30% from Cullen
Resources Ltd (ASX:CUL) for $250,000.
The Forrestania Joint Venture area comprises ground located proximal to
Western Areas Ltd (ASX:WSA) and Kagara Zinc Ltd (ASX:KZL) on the highly
prospective western margin of the Forrestania Greenstone belt south of
Southern Cross, Western Australia (refer attached map). The recent
start-up of Western Areas’ Flying Fox nickel mine 12 km south of the
Joint Venture area and the $25 million tenement package acquisition by Kagara is testament to the prospectivity of the Joint Venture area.

Summary of the 1st Quarter Activities
Sunday gold project
(Mt Stewart)
Further significant (>100ppb Au) gold mineralisation has been
intersected by a recently completed aircore drilling programme at
Hannans Reward’s Sunday gold project. As a result, several RC targets
are now well defined by the existing aircore coverage and are planned to
be tested later this month.
Extensive aircore drilling has now been conducted within the Mt Stewart
part of the Sunday Project and two gold-in-saprolite/saprock anomalies
(around the MSAC299-035 and MSAC152 aircore intercepts) have been
drilled to a level sufficient enough to provide well defined RC targets.
In addition, the recently identified MSAC339 target provides a further
RC target, even though drilling in the immediate area has been limited.
RC drilling will be targeted to test below the best parts of these
anomalies to attempt to identify the source of the anomalism (in fresh
rock).

Another encouraging gold intercept at Sunday
A highly encouraging gold
result has just been received from the recently completed aircore
drilling programme at the Sunday gold project with further results
pending.
The most recent result is considered by Hannans Reward to be the best
gold intercept returned since commencing exploration at the Sunday
Project in December 2003. This is due to its down-hole length (vertical
hole) and location within the gold-anomalous corridor identified by
Hannans Reward.
The intercept is 8m at 3.52g/t gold from within 21m at 1.48g/t gold.
This result is from a depth of 40m down-hole.
This recent result provides another target for the reverse circulation
drill programme scheduled to commence late next month.
